Dr Ling (Lilli) Sun
Research Fellow, Centre for Gravitational Astrophysics, The Australian National University
ARC DECRA Fellow
I am a research fellow at the Centre for Gravitational Astrophysics (CGA) at the Australian National University. I am a member of the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO) Scientific Collaboration, an ARC DECRA Fellow, and one of the Chief Investigators of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Discovery (OzGrav).
My primary research interests are gravitational-wave data analysis and studying fundamental physics from gravitational-wave observations, including:
black hole superradiance, ultralight bosons, particle dark matter
black hole spectroscopy
binary neutron star post-merger physics
continuous waves from neutron stars
calibration of the gravitational-wave detectors
science of the next-generation detectors
In particular, I am interested in bringing together advanced computing and signal processing techniques, gravitational-wave data and theory, as well as the understanding of the instruments for gravitational-wave observation.
